Bin crews in Wrexham will continue to head out early next week as a spell of hot, dry weather settles over the county borough.

Wrexham Council has confirmed that collections will continue, starting earlier than usual to help crews avoid the hottest part of the day, with residents asked to put out bins and recycling the night before so everything is ready by 6am.

The Met Office says Wrexham is set for a run of hot, dry days next week, with temperatures well above the seasonal average.

On Monday, the maximum is expected to reach around 24–25°C, with a mild night around 15°C.

Tuesday should bring similar highs of about 24–25°C and lows near 14°C, before temperatures lift a little mid‑week.

By Wednesday and Thursday, forecasters are expecting peak temperatures in the mid‑ to perhaps upper‑20s Celsius, falling back only to the mid‑teens overnight.

Friday is likely to stay warm, with highs again in the mid‑20s and another close, mild night.

Councillor David A Bithell, Wrexham Council’s Lead Member for Environment, said the continuing hot spell made the early start essential.

He said: "The hot weather is expected to continue and these early measures will assist our crews.

"Please put out your bins and recycling as early as possible to avoid missed collections."

Residents are also being reminded to keep bin lids firmly shut and to double‑bag food waste where possible to help minimise smells and flies in the heat.

With strong sunshine and light winds expected on several days, UV levels are likely to be high around the middle of the day, adding to the strain on crews working outdoors.
