It has certainly been a significant week in politics, with new leadership both in Wales and across the UK.
I'd like to congratulate Ken Skates on becoming Leader of Welsh Labour. As the first North Walian to lead the party, he understands the opportunities and challenges facing communities like ours.
Like me, Ken attended Mold Alun School, so I know how proud he'll be to champion the place that helped shape him. I look forward to working with him to ensure North Wales has a strong voice.
I'd also like to congratulate Andy Burnham on becoming Leader of the Labour Party and Prime Minister. Since Andy returned to Parliament, we've had several constructive conversations about the opportunities and challenges facing Clwyd East and North Wales.
We share a belief that our area has enormous potential, and I look forward to working with him to secure the investment, jobs and opportunities our communities deserve.
While leadership changes naturally make the headlines, my focus remains firmly on the issues local people raise with me every day.
As a new mum, I was pleased to see England announce newborn screening for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Early diagnosis can make a life-changing difference for babies and their families, and I hope the Welsh Government will now introduce the same screening here in Wales so every child has the best possible start in life.
I've also been contacted by a number of constituents concerned about noise and anti-social behaviour coming from houses operating through short-term letting platforms. and marketed for parties. The recent reports from Halkyn have brought this issue into the spotlight.
This isn't about responsible holiday lets, which play an important role in supporting tourism and our local economy.
It's about tackling the small number of properties that cause persistent noise, anti-social behaviour and disruption for neighbouring residents. I'll continue exploring what more can be done to support communities affected by this issue.
Finally, I'd encourage everyone to have their say in the UK Government's consultation on the use of fireworks. Whether it's concerns about pets, livestock, veterans or people with sensory sensitivities, it's important that local voices help shape future policy.
