MULTIPLE roads in a Flintshire village are set to close until next year as major water pipe upgrade works take place.

Hafren Dyfydwy is working to replace older water pipes in the Penyffordd area.

The work is taking place in different stages and the company hopes to have it completed by the end of January 2027.

As part of the work, a number of roads will be subject to closures to traffic throughout its duration.

They are as follows:

  • Chester Road Service Road, between its junctions with Hazel Drive. This road will be closed between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm.
  • Terrace Lane, between its junctions with Chester Road and Lower Mountain Road.
  • Lower Mountain Road, between its junctions with Terrace Lane and Kinnerton Road.

A Hafren Dyfrdwy spokesperson said: “We’re investing over £1m in Penyffordd to replace the older water pipes in the village, helping to bring a more reliable service to customers.

"We’ll be working in different stages across the village and hope to have completed all the work by January 2027.

“Traffic management will be in place for the duration of our works for the safety of the public and our workers."

They added: "We appreciate the disruption this will cause and want to thank everyone for their patience while we do this.

"If anyone does have any questions, they can speak to our teams on site who will be able to support.”
