Wrexham Arriva bus diversions due to road closures this week

Arriva bus passengers in Wrexham are facing a number of diversions this week because of road closures and roadworks.

Here is a route-by-route guide to every affected Arriva service so you can check if your usual bus is impacted.

Wrexham Arriva bus diversions

Service 7: Wrexham – Caia Park (via Holt Road)

Operator: Arriva

Dates: From 14 April 2026 onwards

Reason: Road closure affecting the usual route through Caia Park

Diversion: Arriva buses are operating via Cefn Road and then Ceiriog Road instead of the normal line of route.

Stops not in use: Stops along the closed section that would usually be served from Holt Road.

Alternative stops: Passengers should use stops on Cefn Road or Ceiriog Road, or ask the driver for the nearest alternative.

Dates: From 13 May 2026 onwards

Reason: Roadworks on part of the usual route

Diversion: Arriva buses are diverting via Powell Road, avoiding the roadworks area.

Stops not in use: Stops within the affected stretch of road.

Alternative stops: Passengers are advised to use stops on Powell Road or nearby streets while the works are in place.

Service 8: Wrexham – Caia Park (via Hightown)

Operator: Arriva

Dates: From 14 April 2026 onwards

Reason: Road closure impacting the regular route.

Diversion: Arriva buses are also operating via Cefn Road and then Ceiriog Road, following the same diversion as service 7.

Stops not in use: Stops on the closed section that service 8 would normally serve via Hightown.

Alternative stops: Passengers should use the nearest stops on Cefn Road or Ceiriog Road, or check with the driver.

Dates: From 13 May 2026 onwards

Reason: Roadworks on part of the route.

Diversion: Arriva buses are diverting via Powell Road, in line with the changes to service 7.

Stops not in use: Stops within the roadworks zone.

Alternative stops: Use stops on Powell Road or other nearby streets while the diversion is in place.

Service 12: Wrexham – Brymbo

Operator: Arriva

Dates: From 4 June 2026 onwards

Reason: Road closure on Clayton Road.

Diversion: Arriva buses are being diverted away from Clayton Road and will follow an alternative route through the area instead of the usual line of route.

Stops not in use: All stops along Clayton Road while the closure is in place.

Alternative stops: Passengers should use nearby stops on adjacent streets, or check with the driver for the nearest alternative stop.

Passengers who usually board these buses are advised to allow extra time and use the nearest alternative stop while the closure remains in force.

Passengers are being urged to check the latest information before travelling, as short-notice changes can still be made.
