PHIL PARKINSON admits departures are inevitable as the Wrexham boss looks to make the numbers add up ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Parkinson is looking to add to his squad this summer after the Reds finished seventh in the Championship last term, just two points away from a play-off spot.
Clubs in the Championship are limited to a 25-man squad and that includes goalkeepers or players who were aged 21 or over at the start of the calendar year.
Despite Andy Cannon and Jay Rodriguez leaving the Racecourse when Parkinson announced his retained list last month, 33 players remain under contract, although two - Aaron James and Harry Ashfield - are under 21 and would not fill a place in the squad.
A number of players finished last season on loan at other clubs, including Conor Coady and Elliot Lee, and the Reds' manager admits some who haven't been part of his plans will be keen to seek moves elsewhere.
"We have got a lot of players who have come back from loan clubs and their agents will obviously be working on other scenarios for a few of them," he said.
"I will be liaising closely with those agents as we speak.
"But things will take time. The play-offs have only just finished and there's a lot of sorting out to do."
Wrexham, on the back of securing a record-breaking third successive promotions, took the battle for a play-off place down to the last game before the Premier League dream came to an end and Parkinson has identified possible transfer targets to make his squad even stronger next season.
"The recruitment is ongoing," he added.
"We've sat down and had a good meeting with all the staff, and went through how we feel the squad should look and started firming up a few of the potential targets.
"We will continue to work on that as we go along."
