A MOLD teenager has been given "a chance" by a Judge after concerns about drug-taking outside a Flintshire pub.
Ricky Leech, of Bridge Street, appeared at Mold Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The 18-year-old admitted one offence of possessing ketamine, which took place on April 25 this year.
Prosecutor Natalee Hughes-Jones told the court that on the day of the offence, North Wales Police was made aware of "a group of males outside the Red Lion pub in Mold taking drugs."
Officers attended and located one of the males identified to them, who turned out to be Leech.
He admitted to them that he was in possession of ketamine.
Ms Hughes-Jones told the court that the defendant was last before the youth court in 2024 for a drug-related matter.
Andy Holliday, defending, told the court: "He was found - and admits being - in possession of a small amount of ketamine.
"This is his first conviction as an adult and he understands he needs to stop the use of ketamine.
"He wants to get into the world of work."

Deputy District Judge Gerallt Jones told Leech: "You've just turned 18, this is your first appearance before an adult court.
"I will give you a chance. Take this as a warning."
The Judge handed down a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered Leech to pay £85 costs, as well as a £26 victim surcharge.
