WRITING this 10 days ago and you wouldn’t have argued that finishing in sixth spot was the only option open to Wrexham in the promotion run-in.

But how things change so quickly in football and the Championship league table reads very differently heading into tonight’s home clash with Portsmouth.

Wrexham - after dismantling Ipswich Town 5-3 on Saturday - are now just three points adrift of the Tractor Boys and only five off fourth-placed Millwall.

Millwall and Hull City both suffered shock 3-1 home defeats at the weekend and The Lions were beaten by tonight’s visitors to The Racecourse.

And that’s the beauty of this league is that anyone can beat anyone and Wrexham fans will be hoping they can raise their game against lower opposition this week - against Pompey tonight and at Charlton on Saturday.

OUR PREDICTIONS:

WREXHAM 2 PORTSMOUTH 1 NICK HARRISON

WREXHAM 3 PORTSMOUTH 1 RICHARD WILLIAMS

WREXHAM 2 PORTSMOUTH 1 SHAUN DAVIES

THE SCORES SO FAR... RICHARD WILLIAMS 24; SHAUN DAVIES 23; NICK HARRISON 19
