AN author will be talking murder, mystery, and the high seas at an event in Flintshire this month.
The themes collide in Waves of Destiny, the latest crime novel by author and award-winning playwright David McCaddon, who was born in Mold.
David will be hosting an afternoon tea event at the Daniel Owen Centre, in Mold, on November 21 at 2pm, in aid of Maggie's Cancer Support Centre at Bodelwyddan.
At the event he will be speaking about Waves of Destiny, which takes readers onboard a luxury cruise liner where nothing is quite as serene as the ocean views - and where every passenger potentially could be a suspect. The story follows a group of strangers brought together in this fast-paced crime whodunnit, set aboard a luxury cruise liner.

What is it that has brought them together and who is the mysterious stranger eavesdropping on conversations?
"Cruise ships have this fascinating duality - they're wonderful places of relaxation but at times at sea they can seem isolated," said David. "I wanted to explore what happens when crime surfaces in such a contained, glamorous environment.
"The ocean becomes a perfect metaphor, sometimes calm, sometimes unforgiving, but always full of possibility."

David is regularly in demand onboard as a guest cruise lecturer. He has also been inspired by classic whodunits and of course his own experience working for decades in police systems worldwide. He crafts stories where atmosphere and suspense combine to draw readers deep into the narrative.
