NORTH Wales Police have confirmed an incident regarding a child being approached by a van 'did not happen.'

Shortly before 4pm on Sunday, June 8 it was reported that a child had been followed by a van in the area of Rossett, Wrexham.

The alleged incident involved a man acting suspiciously while in a black van on Chester Road.

Following an investigation which included multiple CCTV checks and further information, police now say the incident did not happen.

A spokesperson said: "We would like thank the local community which assisted with our investigation and enquiries and to re-assure them that there are no concerns involving this type of incident within the Rossett area."
