A WREXHAM man has been sent to prison for dangerous driving and stalking his ex-partner.
Joseph Price, of Fron Las in Coedpoeth, Wrexham, appeared in Mold Crown Court on Thursday (June 19).
The 35-year-old had previously been convicted for dangerous driving and stalking causing serious alarm and distress between January and May this year.
Prosecutor Joseph Lees told the court that the defendant had subjected his ex-partner, Emily Mumford, to verbal abuse on January 3.
He then followed her in a car while attempting several dangerous and 'aggressive' manoeuvres.
At a later date, Price was caught parked outside his then-partner's home.
He eventually made several threats to end his own life if she did not respond to his calls.
Ms Mumford stated that his behaviour had changed her life, resulting in unemployment, and 'she did not feel safe to leave her home', the court heard.
Price once told her: "If you get a new partner, you know what I will do. Even a restraining order won't stop me", the court heard.
Mr Lees also stated Price had threatened to place a tracker in their daughter's pram, and said he knew her current address at all times.
On one occasion, Price followed Ms Mumford to meet her new partner and yelled 'you're dead' to him before jumping onto the bonnet of her car.
Amy Edwards, defending, told the court: "Mr Price knows how wrong his behaviour was, and has shown remorse.
"He did not know how to deal with the breakdown of his relationship. It was out of character, and he realises how harmful and unacceptable his actions were."
Ms Edwards told the court that the defendant had received no previous convictions, and that he would likely benefit from structure and routine.
But nevertheless concluded that did not excuse his actions.
Judge Rhys Rowlands said: "The aggressive driving was clearly to intimate her for a significant distance after criticising her parenting skills.

"You've shown nothing but controlling behaviour by refusing to accept the victim has moved on. You even told her to stay single, and that you'd slit her throat."
The defendant received two-years imprisonment and a two-year disqualification from driving.
He also received a five-year restraining order.
Judge Rowlands added: "I'm surprised you've been allowed on bail at all.
"The aggravating factors in this case are far too serious. This is your first and hopefully your only experience of custody."
