Stolen vehicle crashes in Wrexham centre, police confirm

NORTH Wales Police have confirmed the reason for a high presence of officers in Wrexham City Centre earlier this week.

On Tuesday, May 13, a collision occurred at the A5152/A525 traffic light junction near Bellevue Park.

(Image: NQ) The incident sparked heavy congestion, with traffic backed to the Watery Road roundabout.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called shortly after 2.30pm to report a vehicle being stolen from the Croesnewydd Road area of Wrexham, before being involved in a collision. 

"A 34-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving and driving without insurance."

A recovery van removed the vehicle from the area at approximately 3.20pm.
