DISRUPTION is expected on roads throughout Wrexham this evening while Llangollen Young Farmers hold their Illuminated Tractor Run.

In total, 53 tractors will be leaving Llangollen at 5pm, and heading to Wrexham via the A539.

They will visit numerous villages, including Penycae, Rhosllanerchrugog and Bersham, before reaching Morrisons on Ruthin Road at about 7pm.

There, they will take a short break, and give passers-by the chance to see their tractors and make a donation to their chosen charity, which this year is the children’s ward at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Then, they will continue through the city along Mold Road and into the city centre, before heading out along Ruabon Road through Johnstown and Ruabon and on towards Chirk.

The full run is likely to last from 5pm until 9.30pm.

(Image: staff) North Wales Police said: “As you can expect, there will likely be some disruption to travel across Wrexham as the convoy moves across Wrexham as they raise money for charity.”

Last year's Illuminated Tractor Run in Llangollen raised more than £1,200 for three worthy causes - The Teenage Cancer Trust, Nightingale Hope Hospice, and a community defibrillator.
