MANY people were dealt with by Mold and Wrexham magistrates Courts on Tuesday.

Christopher Keane, aged 39 and of Walden Crescent, Chirk, was sentenced for drink driving, which took place at Chirk on June 12 this year when he was found to have 129 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath; the limit being 35. He received an 18 month community order after the court deemed him to be "a persistent offender" with a "realistic prospect of rehabilitation." The defendant must undertake up to 10 days of rehabilitation activity and 150 hours of unpaid work. He was banned from driving for 29 months and must pay £85 costs, as well as a £114 victim surcharge.

Carl Bambrough, aged 34 and of no fixed abode, was sentenced for stealing clothes worth £48 from Matalan at Mount Street in Wrexham on June 29. The court handed down a two week custodial sentence, stating the defendant "has a flagrant disregard for court orders. 

Gary Wheeler, aged 62 and of Rochester Close, Meon Vale, was sentenced for exceeding a 40mph speed limit on the A548 at Mostyn on August 9 last year. He was fined £215 and must pay £110 costs, as well as an £86 victim surcharge. The court opted not to ban him, given he "is a carer for his parents who are frail," and he "takes them weekly shopping and to doctors appointments."

Alan Sobczak, aged 30 and of Ruabon Road in Wrexham, was sentenced for using a motor vehicle when a tyre had less than 1mm tread, as well as for driving without a seatbelt, which took place in Wrexham on January 7 this year. He was handed a £153 fine and three penalty points. The court ordered him to pay £110 costs and a  £61 victim surcharge.
