Showing her support, Mayor of Wrexham Cllr Beryl Blackmore attended the official opening on Saturday, June 8.

She said: "It was a lovely visit to The Foundry Gym on Saturday. All the staff were very welcoming and pleased to see me.

"I loved cutting the ribbon and wishing the owner and staff a really successful launch. The gym closing in Plas Coch left people unhappy, and speaking outside to the queue of people, there was excitement in the air.

"I thought the layout and equipment in the gym were top notch [and] judging by the crowd outside it should be a success. The free parking is great, and 24 hour suits shift workers. I intend to visit in a couple of months just to say hello."

Branch owners Jennifer Mary Daniel and Ross Whetton said: "It was an honour to have Cllr Beryl Blackmore open our new facility in Eagles Meadow shopping centre.

"This has been a big project to bring something different to the centre for the people to enjoy.

"A big thank you to the people of Wrexham for a great turnout and great support. We have been inundated with lots of positive and supportive messages."
