A NEW budget-friendly bridal studio has opened in Flintshire.

Owning a bridal shop has been a life-long dream for Amy Neilson, who has made that a reality with business partner Kate Warburton.

After 12 months of pop-up events at Inglewood Manor House in Ellesmere Port, The Little Dress Co in Deeside, is now open for brides.

The new business offers ex-sample and preloved wedding gowns, in sizes 6-26, with 150 available at any one time. The majority of the dresses are £500 or less, easing the financial pressure of a couple's big day. They also stock veils and boleros, with plans for skirt hoops soon.

Amy, 30, originally from Hawarden, said: "This has been my life-long dream. I worked in a bridal shop when I was about 15, and from that day I've always wanted to work in bridal.

"There are so many dresses out there have been worn once and are in immaculate condition. It's tragic that they just get put in a loft.

"I've always loved bridal, as a little girl I wanted to be a wedding dress designer and I had folders and folders of drawings of dresses.

"I've always been a bit of a hopeless romantic but I just love the ball gowns. How many days in your life can you get to wear something like that?

"There's something very special and magical about it all, and to be a part of someone's big day they'll remember for the whole life is just lovely.

"It's taken a while to get here. I've had this idea for the last eight or nine years but it's been a good start, and we had a really positive first weekend."
