A TEAM from a Wrexham-based business are on the fundraising trail for a hospice this weekend.

Almost 50 staff, family members and clients of financial planners, Hadlow Edwards are booting up to raise money for Wrexham charity, Nightingale House Hospice.

The ramblers will be heading off on a 10km loop of the Sandstone Trail, on Saturday, May 11, finishing off with a well-earned drink and social at the Bickerton Poacher. The walk will be led by Hadlow Edwards director Warren Hadlow, with a shorter route alternative so everyone can have a go, even if the weather is bad. The team is looking forward to some time together outside the workday and the opportunity to raise much-needed funds for Nightingale House.

The ramble is the latest fundraiser undertaken by the Hadlow Edwards team for Nightingale House, with previous fundraising including a 383km cycle from Vietnam to Cambodia and a spinathon in Wrexham city centre.

Nightingale House provides specialist palliative care services for those with life-limiting illnesses. Its services are completely free-of-charge, to patients and their families across its catchment area, stretching from Wrexham, Flintshire and East Denbighshire to Barmouth and the border towns, including Oswestry and Whitchurch.

Warren said: "We ran a questionnaire with our staff at the end of last year to discover what charities and awareness days are the most important to them. Nightingale House came up time and again. It's a local charity, doing amazing work and so many people have a connection to the place. It seemed the obvious choice."

Sarah Povey, corporate fundraising lead for Nightingale House, added: "On behalf of the hospice team, I extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hadlow Edwards for their unwavering support as they embark on their forthcoming fundraising walk. Their continued dedication and generosity to Nightingale House make a world of difference to local people at the most difficult time of their lives."

The team has set a £,2000 target. Anyone wishing to support them, can donate via their JustGiving page: justgiving.com/page/hadlow-edwards-big-ramble
