HUGE crowds of people gathered to enjoy the first day of the 2024 Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza yesterday (May 4).

The three-day event, which has been running for 39 years, takes over the town’s main roads, and includes street entertainment, vintage rides, modern attractions, stall holders, face painting, and tractors and engines.

Its opening ceremony was held at 10am this morning, but sadly, for the second year running at this free event, there was no midday parade.

This year’s event also featured a Victorian dress competition, with winners including Millie from Llandudno (children), dressed as a "gothic Queen Victoria", and a man dressed as Dr Watson (men).
