AUSTRALIAN actress Rebel Wilson said the popular docu-series Welcome to Wrexham taught her everything about her new found love for football.

The Hollywood star, who has starred in films including Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect and The Hustle, was speaking on the BBC's One Show on Wednesday night (May 1), when they got onto the topic of football.

The Pitch Perfect star said that she loves watching the Wrexham documentary, covering life on and off the pitch for the Reds under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Speaking on the One Show, she said: "I love the Australian women's team, the Matildas who crushed it in the World Cup so I'm really excited and I'm going to go to the Olympics and hopefully get to watch them live.

I love that women's soccer is coming up strong and I love watching that doco Welcome to Wrexham, that's how I learnt all about the different leagues, I love it."

Wilson has history with Wrexham after she was spotted filming in Wrexham in 2021 for her film, 'The Almond And The Sea Horse', - an on-screen adaption of Kaite O’Reilly’s stage play.

The film is set to premiere in the UK on May 10.

Maybe the Australian star will be the latest A lister to visit the SToK Cae Ras.
