A TEAM from a Flintshire salon are set to take on a challenge in aid of two charities very close to the owners heart.

Lisa Davies, from Buckley, and her team from The Wow Company in the Flintshire town are taking on a 12 hour fundraising challenge next month.

The challenge is a repeat of one they did last year, 12 hours of non stop blow-drys.

Lisa and her team were raising funds for Macmillan last year, as her father continues his fight with cancer.

Five years ago, Lisa's dad, Doug was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has had ongoing treatment in his battle to beat it.

Now on May 11, she plans on doing the challenge from 12pm until 12am, in aid of Macmillan as well as Tommy's - a charity that support families through pregnancy and baby loss.

The two charities are very close to Lisa's heart, she said: "After last year's event was such a success, I’ve organised it again for May 11, but this time I’m raising for money for two charities.

"Me and my team will be working from 12 noon to 12 midnight and all money raised will go to Macmillan and Tommy's.

"I chose Macmillan after my dads cancer diagnosis, he’s still having ongoing treatment so seemed appropriate to continue with this wonderful charity.

"I’ve teamed it with Tommy's, a charity that’s helps families with pregnancy and baby loss.

"This organisation has supported me in recent months after my own loss earlier this year so I wanted to raise more awareness of the care and support they give to families going through such a difficult time.

"We’ve once again had support from other local businesses who have donated raffle prizes and vouchers for the event.

"Once again we’re so honoured to have all the support for our charity event from clients and local businesses. We’re hoping this year will be even bigger and better."
