PEOPLE are being urged to be vigilant of after reports of cold callers claiming to have been sent by Wrexham Council.
Wrexham Council said it has been made aware of people door knocking in the Caia Park area claiming that they have been sent by the council to to complete ‘checks’ in regards to cost of living, electric suppliers and Wifi. They reportedly wanted to gain access to their property to do a Wi-fi check.
The council has said it wouldn't contact tenants in this way, and wants to remind people to not engage with any cold callers.
A Wrexham Council spokesperson said: "Whether someone is some calling via the phone or door to door, we recommend that you do not engage.
"You cannot always understand their true intentions, so please be aware."
