WREXHAM music enthusiasts are in for a treat later this month as a Swedish choir join the Cantorion Sirenian Singers.

On April 19 at St Giles’ Parish Church, Wrexham, the Swedish choir Lidingö Vox will be travelling from Stockholm to join the Sirenians in their ‘Spring Serenade' concert.

The two musical directors, Jean Stanley Jones MBE and Niklas Tamm, have been in regular contact over the last few months choosing a wide variety of interesting pieces to entertain the people of Wrexham.

The choirs will be singing some of their own repertoires but will also join to become one choir for parts of the evening; singing in English, Welsh and Swedish.

The Sirenians efforts to perfect the Swedish repertoire have been heard by the residents of Garden Village during Thursday evening rehearsals for quite some time now!

Lidingö Vox’s musical director, Niklas Tamm said: "Working closely with Jean on repertoire and arranging the concert has been a pleasure, albeit over email and facetime!

"Lidingö Vox is looking forward to putting faces to names and meeting up with the Sirenians for what will be an excellent, entertaining concert at St Giles’ Parish Church."

The Leader:

Jean Stanley Jones said: "We are very excited to welcome our Swedish friends to the city of Wrexham. We have an excellent concert to look forward to and I’m confident that the audience will be thrilled with the musical choices we’ve made."
