A MEN'S mental health charity is expanding by opening new clubs across the UK, including Flintshire.

Suicide is the biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK with 75% of all suicides being men.

'Andy's Man Club' was founded in the aftermath of the suicide of Andy Roberts, a young man from the north east by his brother in law and former rugby star Luke Amber and his mother, Elaine.

The aim of the UK charitable organisation is to get men to open up so that it never reaches the point where they consider taking their own life. It provides group based and one-on-one support.

Starting seven years ago in Halifax, the first group was attended by nine men.

Luke and Elaine were determined to grow the organisation and reach 10 groups in 10 years. Now, over 180 groups later, almost 4,500 men attend every single week.

For a long time, the only group in north Wales has been Wrexham.

Now, Andy's Man Club is proudly expanding with several new branches coming to the UK, including one in Deeside. An exact location will be confirmed on social media soon.

On April 22, Flintshire male residents will be able to receive the support they truly deserve while connecting with like-minded individuals.

A new club will also be coming to Alloa in Scotland (April 15), Corby in Northamptonshire (April 15), Exeter in Devon (April 15) and Murton in County Durham (April 8).
