A BRAND new gym coming to a Wrexham shopping centre has confirmed it will open just in time for the summer.

The UK-based fitness chain 'Foundry Gym' announced its latest branch will be coming to Wrexham's Eagles Meadow Shopping Centre.

The Leader:

Founder Joe Bland has promised brand new state of the art equipment, free parking and has now confirmed it will open 'early June.'

The gym has also confirmed it will be open 365 days a year, 24/7 with free parking in the shopping centre's multi-storey carpark.

Established in 2013, the 24-hour gym currently has several branches across the UK and is described as the 'best place to boost strength, cardio and confidence'.

Foundry Gym Wrexham will occupy Unit B1B, the former Sports Direct unit, next door to the former M&S building.

Over £500,000 is being invested into the branch, which will be co-owned by Jennifer Mary Daniel and Ross Whetton, whose parents are originally from the Wrexham area.

The gym is also doing exclusive membership discounts for a limited time only ahead of the grand opening.

In the past five-years, the leisure business has come on leaps and bounds opening ten sites across the UK despite only starting with two.

A spokesperson said: "Our plan for 2024 is to open another five sites around the UK. Each gym is run by individual owners as we have a franchise based business model.

"As we grow as a company our team is expanding with six of us working full time opening new sites alongside our new franchisees and all the contractors."
