THE WREXHAM Nightsafe scheme has revealed how many people are currently banned from pubs in the city.

The team meet on a monthly basis to discuss issues within licensed premises' in the city centre.

Licensees across the city meet with North Wales Police and Wrexham Council officials to share information on individuals who cause problems.

The group can decided to exclude people from entering all premises in the scheme by placing them on a Pubwatch ban.

They have this week revealed that there are currently 20 names on that list of people banned from Wrexham's city centre pubs.

Following their latest NightSafe meeting, a statement from NWP Wrexham Town read: "The aim is to work together to prevent alcohol related crime and disorder in the city."

They added: "During this week’s meeting, members discussed a man reported to have been attending pubs in the city, despite being placed on a Pubwatch ban earlier this year.

"Advice around drug use within licenced premises and what can be done to uphold a zero tolerance approach was also a topic of conversation.

"Wrexham Nightsafe has around 20 people banned from entering all Pubwatch premises’ for persistently causing issues or committing crime and disorder.

"A big thank you to those premises who make the effort to attend just an hour a month to help make the night-time economy safe for everyone!"

If you are a local licensee and would like to join the scheme, then you can pop along to the next meeting on April 2 at 10:30am at The Nags Head.
