AN AIRSOFT shop with its own shooting range has opened its doors in Wrexham city centre.

Tin Can Alley recently opened its doors on Queen Street. It is an airsoft shop and range specialising in electric and gas blow back Realistic Imitation Firearms (RIF).

The shop stocks everything from rifles and pistols, to mounted grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. It stocks all the equipment, including ammunition, maintenance tools, attachments and sights, that an airsoft player would need.

And the shop contains its own indoor firing range, whereby people can come and have a go at shooting airsoft guns. This is open to over 18s, or 12+ with adult supervision.

Airsoft is a military simulation sport where players participate in mock combat with authentic military-style weapons and tactics. Unlike paintball, airsoft uses 6mm round BBs made of hard plastic. The guns used are full scale replicas of real world weapons.

David Picken, the shop's owner, said: "It's always exciting being able to bring something new and unique to Wrexham. Tin Can Alley isn't just a shop, it's a really fun experience that anyone can join in on and enjoy.

"We've had so many wonderful people in already that have been so supportive of having something like this local, many would usually travel to Chester or further afar, so being able to bring something like this to the heart of the city is great."

He added: "Our range is perfect for every skill level and has been utilized for current players to brush up on new guns they've acquired and to help zero in new sights, on top of just being really fun.

"We're looking to add a high-tech interactive screen into the range that comes with multiple game modes and scenarios that players can shoot to play along.

"We can't wait to get the huge interactive screen into the range, these things are really top tier and are rarely found anywhere in the UK, so being able to offer that in our town centre is amazing for us."
