WREXHAM'S first monthly Street Market of the year has been a success, despite the weather's attempt to dampen the mood.

Organiser Fern Evans was thrilled with the overall turn out to her first Street Market held in Wrexham's Queen Square which took place on Saturday, February 3.

With over 30 stall holders, there was a fantastic variety of goods on offer. From handmade gifts to homemade brownies and wonderful local artwork, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Despite the poor weather to begin with, customers began to show in numbers later in the day creating a bustling atmosphere in Wrexham's City Centre.

There will also be an additional pop-up market held on Saturday, February 10 to make up for any time and sales lost through the initial bad weather.

Fern said: "We had over 30 traders and all of them said they had a good day!

"I’d booked the extra date in case the weather had been too bad this weekend so that we’d have a backup plan, but a lot of the regulars have asked if we can do that date as well seeing as it’s booked!

"So as long as the weather doesn’t take a turn we’ll be there again on the 10th with a smaller market with around 20 stalls.

"It was a good start to the year."
