WREXHAM AFC co-chairman Ryan Reynolds has wished two opposition players well after a 'scary few minutes' in the club's latest win.

The Reds marched on in their quest for promotion to EFL League One with a resounding 4-1 win over Barrow on new years' day.

A Steven Fletcher hat-trick and a Paul Mullin wondergoal spared the blushes after a difficult start to the game which saw the visitors go 1-0 up just one minute in.

During the match at the STok Cae Ras, both David Worrall and Luca Stephenson suffered head injuries for Barrow.

The pair were both stretchered off the field, with Ryan describing the scenes as 'scary'.

In a post he wrote on X (formerly Twitter) after the match, Ryan said: "Great start to ‘24 for @Wrexham_AFC…

"Hoping @BarrowAFC players, David Worrall and Luca Stephenson are okay. Scary few min there."

Barrow AFC replied by saying; "Thanks for the kind words".

An injury update on the pair from Barrow AFC on the evening of January 1 read: "We can confirm that David Worrall is currently at the hospital being assessed, but he is conscious and talking.

"Luca Stephenson is also up and talking and did not need to go to the hospital.

"Wishing you both a speedy recovery."

They later posted: "Following up on this, after being assessed David Worrall has now been discharged from hospital and is able to go home."
