A SERIAL shoplifter who twice stole clothes from a Chester store around the Christmas period has been jailed.
Robert Bailey, 33, of Rhosddu Road, Wrexham, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Thursday, December 28, where he pleaded guilty to the two thefts from JD Sports in Chester.
The court heard the first offence took place on Saturday, December 23, when Bailey stole a £65 Montirex jacket, while the second took place on Wednesday, December 27, when Bailey stole £140 of clothing.
Magistrates imposed an immediate custodial sentence of four weeks as Bailey committed the offences while already subject to a suspended sentence, and took the view that Bailey was acting as 'a professional criminal'.
They also believed the defendant had a flagrant disregard for people and their property.
