CROWDS braved the weather to turn out for Wrexham’s Christmas Markets across the weekend.

Despite the wind and the rain, visitors and shoppers descended on Bellevue Park to sample the festive atmosphere created at the highly anticipated annual event.

The Leader:

Organised by Offa Community Council in partnership with Fair Event Management, the organisers of Wrexham Feast and various market events in the city centre, this was the first year the Christmas Markets had been held at Bellevue Park after 'outgrowing' the usual location of Queens Square.

The Leader:

And it seems the new location has been a hit with visitors and organisers alike.

On social media an Offa Community Council spokesperson said: “We’ve loved being at our Christmas Market in the park and we loved speaking to our residents and visitors. They loved the market too.”

The Leader:

The event began on Friday afternoon with an Offa community council light switch on taking place that evening, and continued over the weekend, all day Saturday into the evening, wrapping up at 5pm on Sunday.

The Leader:

There was a host of activities and things on offer throughout the weekend including a Snow Queen show, a gingerbread workshop and live music, including brass bands and school choirs from around Wrexham.

The Leader:

The wind and the rain did not deter people from turning out to support the markets, which also featured a street food court with tasty treats, from German Sausage to sweet treats and an onsite bar serving festive favourites including mulled wine and mulled cider.

On social media a spokesperson for Wrexham Christmas Markets said: “This is the last day of what has been such an amazing event - we would like to thank everyone for their support over the last two days.”
