THE FLINT Male Voice Choir has made a generous donation to a local school to develop their musical talent.

During the past 25 years, Flint Male Voice Choir has supported young local musicians and vocalists in developing their talent.

Through the Flint Young Musician Competition and more recently through the Gwyn Lloyd Hughes Award, recipients have received donations to be used in furthering their skills, such as towards the purchase of instruments or private tuition.

Having used the school facilities for many years for their concerts and had wonderful support from the headteachers, the choir has chosen 'Ysgol Gwynedd Flint' as recipient of this year's award.

They were awarded with a  cheque for £1,000 which was presented to Dewi Wyn Hughes - headteacher, at the choir's annual Christmas Concert held in the school hall.

Supported by 'Choirs for Good', the evening was a perfect way to get supporters into the festive spirit.

Dewi Wyn Hughes, headteacher of Ysgol Gwynedd, said: "It is wonderful that Ysgol Gwynedd has been chosen to be the recipients of the Gwyn Lloyd Hughes Award for 2023.
