NIGHTINGALE House Hospice will be getting a helping hand collecting Christmas trees across Wrexham this year.

Property services firm Liberty is helping the hospice in Wrexham this Christmas to raise vital funds to help the charity care for patients.

For the third year running, Liberty staff will be volunteering their time in January to collect Christmas trees from across the community ready for recycling, as a way of raising money for Nightingale House.

Last year, Nightingale house, alongside volunteers from Merseyside-based Liberty and other local businesses, collected almost 1,500 trees, raising over £15,000.

This year, Nightingale House Hospice is aiming to go even bigger, with a fundraising target of £17,000.

Bryan Tennant, Regional Director at Liberty said: “We are so pleased to be able to support Nightingale House for a third year, helping to raise vital funds for this important charity while doing our part to ensure that Christmas trees are properly recycled.

“We have to give special thanks to our Liberty volunteers who go out in all weathers to collect the Christmas trees. The amount raised last year is a testament to the power of working together to make a difference in our local communities. We can't wait to see how much is raised this year.”

Chloe Deacon, Community Fundraiser at Nightingale House Hospice, said: “This is the third year Liberty has supported Nightingale House and we are so, so grateful for their generosity and that of the entire community.

“This event brings in vital funds which go straight towards our amazing patients and their families. Nightingale House is such a wonderful place filled with love, joy and care, and none of that would be possible without people like the Liberty team giving their time and energy.

“So if you see these fantastic volunteers out and about on collection day, please make sure to give them a smile and a wave. Without them, this fundraiser simply would not be possible.”
