THERE WAS a 'wonderful' turnout from the community of a Flintshire town as its Christmas lights were switched on.

On Friday, November 24, Holywell Town Council held its annual Christmas Lights Switch On event which drew in a great crowd once again.

A day full of festive fun was held in town with an artisan's market based on the high street and Santa's float passing through.

Christmas songs were sung by local schoolchildren and other performances were also enjoyed as Christmas officially arrived in Holywell.

A statement from Holywell Town Council after the event read: "What a wonderful turnout for Holywell Christmas Lights Switch On 2023.

"A huge thank you to each and every one of you who came to our Lights Switch On and to everyone who helped make the event a great success! Nadolig Llawen Treffynnon!"
