A WREXHAM runner has completed two half marathons raising crucial funds for the hospice that cared for her late mum.

Nia Jane, 39, has completed two half-marathons in two months, raising an incredible total of £1,451 for Nightingale House Hospice.

Nia completed the Great North Run and Royal Parks Half to raise much needed funds.

The Leader:

The challenge was in memory of her mum, Helen Williams, who sadly passed away in the hospice in February 2009.

She said: "I will always be incredibly grateful to Nightingale House for looking after my Mum and I really wanted to do something in her honour to say thank you and to help other people.

"When the running got hard, I just remembered how much harder it was for my Mum when she was poorly, and I knew I could keep going.

"The incredible support and extremely generous sponsorship I received definitely helped me over both finishing lines too!
