WREXHAM Police FC have played their final charity match of the year raising an incredible total for local charities and organisations. 

On Sunday, November 5 Wrexham Police FC swapped their uniforms for sports gear once again as they took on their final charity match of the year.

The game held at Clywedog, Wrexham, was against their colleagues at Chester Police to raise crucial funds and awareness for Cancer Research UK.

Despite the narrow loss of 2-3 to Chester, the teams raised a total of £390, taking their final total for the year up to £18,607.

The includes £11,726 raised for Awyr Las, £3,398 for PT Centres, £1,200 for Bellevue FC, £521 for Hope House, £541 for Nightingale House, £618 for Blue Light Card Foundation, £390 for Cancer Research UK and £200 for Alder Hey.

They have played seven games, achieved second prize in the Lord Ferrers Awards and made friendships for life across the teams across North Wales.
