A WREXHAM AFC-mad boy showed his love for Paul Mullin by getting him a card and gift to celebrate his birthday.

The Reds' star striker turned 29 today (November 6) - and nine-year-old Alfie Holland wanted to wish his hero a very happy birthday.

The St. Mary's School, Ruabon pupil follows the Reds home and away and got Wrexham's star man a card and some chocolate to celebrate.

His dad, Paul, said: "Alfie's a big Paul Mullin fan - he loves him. Mullin knows Alfie from the last three years watching Wrexham home and away.

"Paul Mullin's always got time for fans, he's a legend. Fair play to Wrexham AFC, it is an eye opener how good the players are with the fans. That's part of the reason Alfie wanted to give Mullin something back on his birthday.

"When Alfie gave him the gifts, Mullin said 'Thank you mate, that's lovely - you shouldn't have but I'm made up'."

The Leader:

Earlier this year, Alfie made the news after he raffled off his signed Wrexham AFC shirt to raise £1,200 for the foodbank.

"Alfie's family and everyone at his school are all very proud of him," Paul added.

"His dream is to walk the Wrexham team out as a mascot for a home game one day."
