A PAIR of Flintshire children showcased their talents with a brilliant Halloween design made from scrap wood.
Stepsiblings Dewi Bridge, aged 11, and Olivia Rees-Jones, 10, designed the legendary Kraken creature in their garden in Mostyn.
Dewi's mum, and Olivia's step mum, Victoria Rees-Jones, said: "They had the idea to make the Kraken and sinking ship and both Olivia and Dewi spent a full day discussing how they would do it.
"They asked me to purchase the wood but I knew it would be expensive. Olivia asked me to look on Facebook so I put a post on the Mostyn Facebook group asking if anyone had any scrap wood available.
"The neighbour offered us their pallets they had finished with so the kids collected them and with supervision from myself and dad they dismantled the pallets to get as much wood as possible, they used left over paint from the house and pipe insulation from B&Q for the Kraken's suckers."
She added: "I'm incredibly proud of them both for their brilliant design."
