'GO-SLOW' protests are being planned for the A55 and the A483 this weekend, in opposition to Wales' 20mph speed limits.

As of September, the majority of residential roads in Wales have changed from 30mph to 20mph.

The Welsh Government says the move will help to 'save lives', but it has faced great opposition with over 460,000 people signing a petition calling for the change to be reversed.

Now, protests against Wales' 20mph speed limits look set to continue this coming weekend.

Drivers are planning to carry out 'go-slow' convoys along parts of the A55, the A483 and also the M4.

The protests will be held as part of 'National Convoy Day' on Saturday (October 28).

A number of local protest groups have teamed up with anti-ULEZ organisers based in London to arrange the convoys.

In north Wales, it is expected that there will be 'heavy congestion' on both the A55 and the A483.

Convoys are expected to head to and from Wrexham at a speed of 30mph, with participants asked to meet at Sainsbury's car park for 10.30am.

Another eastbound convoy will set off from Llanddulas at the same time.

Convoys will also be taking place in Cardiff on Saturday morning, affecting parts of the M4.

The protests follow similar ones that were held along the A55 and the A483 on September 30, just days after the 20mph was enforced in Wales.

Details for go-slow convoys in North Wales on October 28:

  • Llanddulas to Wrexham: Meet at A55 Llanddulas eastbound layby, from 10am for 10.30am departure.
