A YOUNG man from Mold has been heavily praised for assisting a woman stuck in floods during Storm Babet.

As torrential rain poured down on Flintshire, several towns and villages across the county began to flood and roads became impassable.

Ethan Price, 12, from Mold was walking near the town's hospital on Friday when he noticed Elizabeth Carrino stuck in her car.

His immediate response was to come to the rescue of Elizabeth and help her out of her car, reassure her, and then walk her to the hospital entrance.

The kind gesture shown by Ethan has been heavily praised by Elizabeth, who said:  "I was very touched at how Ethan helped me, I just wanted to thank him for his compassion towards me and making sure I got to work safe.

"He could see how upset I was by what had happened and continued to walk me to work and checked I was okay before he left me at the hospital doors

"I think he deserves a pat on the back and he’s only 12. If I was his Mum I would be so very proud of this caring young man."

Ethan's mum, Samantha Peters was also full of praise for her son, who she says is an avid football lover.

She said: "I am very proud of him that he has seen someone who might have needed help and acted so calmly.

"He's just a normal 12-year-old, he enjoys cooking, gaming, and cycling. He has a younger brother and sister.

"He's funny, kind, and caring and will go out of his way to help people."
