THE current management team at the Bridge End Hotel in Llangollen are waving goodbye to the much-loved community pub after four-years of service.

It has been confirmed that Aspire Inns Pub Company will be taking over the lease from Carly Weigh and her team after four wonderful years of business.

The Bridge End Hotel, owned by Robinsons Brewery, is currently closed while the new management work on re-opening plans but is due to open again towards the end of this week.

Mat Cooper, managing director of Aspire Inns, said: "We have taken over the Bridge End and are working on our re-open plans.

"Initially, we don't plan on changing a lot. We like to see how the pub fits in with the local area, make tweaks, new menu and events. It will keep the same name.

"It is a perfect fit for us and we are excited to get stuck in. Having grown up visiting my grandparents in Wales as a child I love the idea of having my first venue in this beautiful country.

"We love getting our pubs back into their communities and welcoming locals and visitors alike. Keep watching this space for more news and updates on our plans."

The company is also inviting regular customers and residents of Llangollen to suggest ideas for the new reopening of the pub, with the top response being to keep it as a homely Welsh pub using local produce and engaging with the culture in Llangollen.
