AHEAD of more hot temperatures this weekend, we thought we'd put together the top five pubs with beer gardens across Wrexham and Flintshire according to Tripadvisor.

We've previously done the best pubs and restaurants in the region but we've looked at the best beer gardens this weekend.

Despite the weather warning in place on Saturday (September 9) temperatures remain high and it is set to clear up on Sunday and into next week.

Here's what we found:

Top five in Wrexham:

1. The Boat Inn - The riverside pub in Erbistock is the perfect place for a beer in the sun. It is rated 4.5/5 on Tripadvisor from 409 reviews.

2. The Golden Lion, Rossett - A large beer garden with both patio seating and picnic benches. It has been rated 4.5/5 from 1,109 reviews.

3. The Nags Head - The pub at the bottom of Mount Street is third on the list, with a large choice of beers to choose from and a sun trap of a beer garden, the Nags is rated 4.5/5 from 551 reviews.

4. The Dog and Pickle - The former Nags Head in Lavister has recently reopened under new ownership and a new name. The change has obviously not affected its Tripadvisor rating of 4.5/5 from 466 reviews.

5. The Pant Yr Ochain - A huge beer garden with both patio seating and picnic benches, a perfect place for a drink in the sun. 4/5 rating from 1,383 reviews.

Top five in Flintshire:

1. The White Bear - The Mancot pub is top of the list for Flintshire with a 5/5 rating from its 397 reviews.

2. The Crown Inn, Lixwm - The first non five-star, but 4.5/5 is still very impressive. Described as a 'cosy village pub' from one of its 196 reviews.

3. The Cross Keys, Sychdyn - Another five-star pub according to Tripadvisor from a total of 97 reviews. The Guinness was very well spoken of in the reviews.

4. The Druid Inn, Llanferres - Plenty of outdoor seating, with 'very good' beer according to Tripadvisor. 4.5/5 from 329 reviews.

5. Pen Y Bont Farm, Mold - Based just outside of Mold, there are plenty of outdoor seats which is ideal for a pint in the sun. 4/5 rating from 1,208 reviews.
