Coming in first place is Wrexham Fish Bar situated on Egerton Street. Customers describe the fish as fresh and hot and the 'super friendly staff' could not be more helpful. Another reviewer said the restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere and always visits when in Wrexham despite living in Kent. It received 4.5 stars.

2. Jones's Fish & Chip Shop

Found on St. Georges Crescent, this chippy is thought of as the best in Wrexham and North Wales by one happy customer on Tripadvisor. Its friendly staff, excellent service and reasonable prices make it a go-to for many local residents. It received 4.5 stars.

3. Eddie's Chippy

In third place, Eddie's Chippy is a firm favourite with the food quality described as 'second to non' by one regular. Its 'excellent value for money and quality of the fish make it the best in the area.' The food is described as consistent and spot on, giving it a glowing 4 star rating.

4. Gwersyllt Fish Bar

'Literally the best chippy I have ever been to', said one happy customer. Gwersyllt Fish Bar serves delicious hot food making it many people's top recommendation for a weekend treat. The shop is clean and the staff service is highly praised on the Tripadvisor website. It has received a 4 star rating.

5. Borras Park Fish Shop

Taking fifth place is Borras Park Fish Shop with an impressive set of reviews from local customers. One reviewer said: "Simply the best chippy in Wrexham. Fabulous fish and chips as always. They were that good on Friday, we went back for more on Monday." It received a 4 star rating.

1. The Master Fryer

At first place with an impressive 5 star rating is The Master Fryer. Situated in Queensferry, it is described as a superb chippy and 'a rare find in this day and age.' With great friendly staff and a fresh tasting menu, it's no wonder this is a popular choice.

2. Wes Edwards Traditional Fish & Chips

'The best chippy for miles', also known as, Wes Edwards chippy is another firm favourite among locals in Mold. Food is always cooked fresh to order and there is a small price to pay for top quality meals, according to one loyal customer. It received a 4.5 star rating.

3. Wong Kwok Fish & Chips

For an average of £20 for two full sized meals, this chippy offers quality food that is prepped quickly and has great portion sizes. One reviewer admitted after trying multiple local takeaways that this is the one they keep coming back to making it worthy of third place on Tripadvisor. It received 4.5 stars.

4. The Crescent Fish and Chip Shop

Situated on Chester Road in Flint, this shop is 'the best I've had in a long time', according to one happy customer. With friendly staff and reasonable prices, what's not to like? Another claims that it was worth the detour if you're not local to the area as the fish as 'delicious batter' and chips to match. It received a 4.5 rating. 

5. Broughton Fish Bar

Offering a mixture of fish and chinese options, this chippy is highly praised for its 'mountain of chips' for just one portion making it an inexpensive option. It received a 3 star rating.
