Summer fun at Aura Libraries

Summer Reading Challenge 2023, Ready, Set, Read…. It's never too late to join this year's Summer Reading Challenge at your local Aura library.

Join Aura Libraries for a summer of reading, activities and fun! To take part in this year's Summer Reading Challenge organised by The Reading Agency, children will need to read six books, for every two books read each child will collect goodies along the way, and finally receive an extra special medal and certificate at the end of the summer holidays in celebration of completing the challenge.

Children can join the challenge at the library or online via the Summer Reading Challenge website where they can rate and review books, download activities, and access video content, games and quizzes.

The purpose of this free reading for pleasure programme is to encourage children to keep reading during the summer holidays and visit their local library to help maintain their reading skills and confidence.

Grŵpiau Sgwrsio Cymraeg - Welsh Conversational Groups at Flint, Holywell and Mold libraries

Are you learning Welsh or want to join a conversational Welsh group?

Flint Library have a weekly Welsh conversational group. The session takes place every Thursday at 2pm and is suitable for learners of all abilities.

Mold Library have an informal Welsh learners conversational group at which meet on the third Thursday of the month at 2pm.

Holywell Library have a conversational group session on the first and third Friday of every month at 2pm.

These sessions are a friendly and relaxed space for Welsh learners and speakers to socialise and build confidence. A very warm welcome to all! For more information, contact libraries@aura.wales

Author John Connolly is coming to Mold Library.

John Connolly is author of the Charlie Parker mysteries, The Book of Lost Things, the Samuel Johnson novels for young adults and, with his partner, Jennifer Ridyard, co-author of the Chronicles of the Invaders. John's debut, Every Dead Thing, introduced the character of Private Investigator Charlie Parker, and swiftly launched him right into the front rank of thriller writers.
