Two North Wales beaches have been named among the top 12 best 'hidden beaches' in the UK.

Looking for a beach that is "off-the-beaten-track", away from busy crowds of people and in a picturesque location? Well, these beaches tick all those boxes.

Porth Wen in Bull Bay on Anglesey and Porth Iago on the Llyn Peninsula have both been named among the best-hidden beaches in the UK in a recent study by Betfair Casino.

To make its decision, the popular casino game website looked at the number of hashtags and views each venue had on Instagram as well as Tripadvisor rankings.

The two North Wales beaches joined the likes of Bamburgh Beach (Northumberland), Cuckmere Haven Beach (Seaford) and Achmelvich Beach (Inverness) in making the top 12.

One reviewer commented: "With no hint of hyperbole, this little sandy cove with crystal clear water is one of the best beaches In the world in my opinion.

"There is a £5 per car charge to use the carpark and the pathway down is a little steep, but it is well worth it as your reward at the bottom is second to none.

"The views at the top are also spectacular on a clear day.

"If you are in the area I certainly recommend you pay a visit."
