A DISPLAY is in the works to pay tribute to Jade Jones ahead of the 2024 Olympics.

The prospect of becoming the first taekwondo athlete in history to win three Olympic gold medals awaits Flint's Jade Jones in Paris next year.

Jones won her first Olympic title as a teenager at London 2012 and followed that up with another four years later.

The 30-year-old was awarded an OBE at the start of this year and is considered a hero by many, including by those in her hometown of Flint.

Residents of the north Wales town are currently pulling together to create a display to help cheer Jones on at the 2024 Olympics next year.

"They will be displayed in the George and Dragon Public House on Church Street, Flint, Jade's hometown on the day of her fight.
