A LLANGOLLEN hotel has made the top 10 as one of the best places to stay near water, according to a list compiled by The Sunday Times.

The Chainbridge Hotel in Llangollen, Denbighshire, is a historic riverside hotel with balcony views looking over the famous River Dee.

It is a historic riverside hotel with stunning views of the river, a two-hundred chain bridge which is thought to be one of the oldest chain bridges in the world, and next door to Llangollen's loved steam railway.

The hotel, ranking at number six in The Sunday Times list, has 33 rooms, many of which feature balconies overlooking the River Dee, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as a public bar open throughout the day.

It is a family-run business welcoming guests warmly into the venue with gorgeous surroundings.

Small Double rooms are available for £80 per night, with the Cambridge Suite offering an unbeatable stay for £225 per night.
