THEATR Clwyd has announced an unmissable lineup as new shows are announced at William Aston Hall for 2024.

Last year Theatr Clwyd took over the running and programming of William Aston Hall in Wrexham with huge names and shows appearing at the venue. It might only be August but the venue has announced more unmissable shows and events taking place in 2024. Get your diaries ready as William Aston Hall is the place to be.

The Leader:

Newly on sale Welsh of the West End (21 Dec 2023) host an intimate night of festive music, featuring musical theatre favourites and Christmas classics.

Coming up next year, music fans will be spoilt for choice with a huge lineup.

The world’s biggest country music tribute show Country Superstars (12 Jan) comes to Wrexham. Sarah Jayne has been performing as Dolly Parton for more than 28 years and is joined by award-winning TV vocal impersonator Andy Crust as Kenny Rogers.

Fans of UB40’s reggae sound will not want to miss the internationally acclaimed Johnny2bad recreating the greatest sound in UB40: The Legacy (22 Feb).

Crooners (2 Feb) is the rip-roaring new comedy music show, with The Mini Big Band live on stage. The show pays homage to some of the greatest crooners of all time, with a splendiferous injection of Britishness featuring humour, tap dance, and some of the most quintessential songs from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Matt Monro, Nat King Cole, Bobby Darin.

Fans of the later Tina Turner will have the time of their lives at What’s Love Got to Do With It? (24 Feb). Expect a night of high energy and feel-good rock-and-roll, performed by an all-live band. This joyous show features all the hits including Proud Mary, River Deep, Simply the Best, Private Dancer, and many more.

Come on down for a session at Irish Annie’s (11 March) pub. A brand-new musical play celebrating the best of Irish culture, from the music through to the comedy. Featuring a live 5-piece band Shenanigans, featuring original tracks along with your all-time favourite Irish tunes.

The cast includes Ricky Tomlinson, Catherine Rice and Asa Murphy. It has been known for a special guest to walk through the pub door too. You never know who might walk in.

The Story of Guitar Heroes (8 March) features talented world-class musicians and state-of-the-art video projection. The show journeys through five decades, from 1950s rock & roll through to the most creative and inspirational guitar heroes of the modern era.

A theatrical concert celebrating the unique sounds of Mumford and Sons, one of the most famous British folk-rock bands of the 21st century, Awake My Soul: The Mumford & Sons Story (10 Mar) is not to be missed. Featuring actor-musicians forming a four-piece band to bring the distinct sound of

Mumford and Sons to the stage, telling the story of the band’s journey from West London dive bars to sell-out stadium tours, multi-platinum albums and a private performance for Barack Obama.

The world’s number one Michael Jackson tribute artist has announced he’s bringing his phenomenal show, including Michael Jackson’s iconic guitarist, Jennifer Batten, to Wrexham! King Of Pop – The Legend Continues (21 April) stars Navi who was hired by Michael Jackson himself as the stars official body double. 

The World's leading tribute to Coldplay come to Wrexham next May. Coldplace: A Tribute to Coldplay (26 May) produce a stunning live concert performance celebrating the music of one of the most successful bands of all time. The only tribute to have worked for Coldplay, this outstanding band leads you through all of your favourite hits.

Dreamcoat Stars (12 Apr) is a magical evening of West End and Broadway musical classics. This colourful production features vibrant and energetic songs from the most loved musicals. Featuring stars from the hit production Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Experience the powerful star vocals of four Josephs.

Returning after a sell-out show, The Magic of Motown (6 Apr) is back with all the Motown classics from artists such as Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, The Supremes, The Four Tops, Martha Reeves, The Jackson 5, Smokey Robinson, and many, many more.

Although there is still plenty of comedy to come at William Aston Hall in 2023, newly announced for next year includes smash hit Frankie Boyle: Lap of Shame (3 March) returning after his sell-out performance earlier this year.

Comedian Tom Davis brings his show Underdog (5 May). Tom Davis is best known for hit shows King Gary, The Curse, Murder In Successville, Live At The Apollo and his hugely popular podcast Wolf and Owl with Romesh Ranganathan.

Liverpool fans won’t want to miss the opportunity to get up close and personal with some football legends at An Audience with Liverpool Legends (16 April). The ultimate evening of Liverpool legends with Ronnie Whelan, Steve McMahon and Jan Molby on stage together hosted by Jed Stone.

There is also an opportunity for 100 lucky fans to have a pre-show meet-and-greet experience.
