A NURSERY based in Llangollen will close for good next month, it has been confirmed.

Following an economic viability consultation held recently, Llangollen Day Nursery will close its doors as of Monday, August 14.

The Board of Trustees say it has been a 'difficult decision' to make and one that has been made with 'great sadness'.

The nursery is located on East Street in Llangollen and has been managed by Early Years Wales.

A letter shown to the Leader confirming the closure - signed by nursery manager Trudy Roberts - read: "It is with great sadness that I write to inform you that following an economic viability consultation at the nursery, Llangollen Day Nursery Board of Trustees have had to make the difficult decision to close the Nursery on Monday, August 14, 2023."

The letter goes on to say: "Childcare invoices relating to this month will require payment in full before 1st August and invoices thereafter must be paid in advance until closure.

"As per your contract, please accept this letter as 4 weeks' notice of termination of contract.

"During this period, our childcare provisions will carry on as normal, and I will do all that I can to assist this transition.

"I want to thank each one of you for entrusting your precious little ones with us over the past few years. It has been an honour and pleasure getting to know them all and watch them grow."

A Facebook page called 'Llangollen Day Nursery Closure - Parents Group' has been set up for parents to discuss the matter and find alternative nurseries for their children.
