Adrian Wright and Rebecca Wright, who use the name FrightenedTreePhotography, are from Rhosnesni in Wrexham. Adrian, 50, is a postman and Becky, 42, is an accountant.

When and why did you take up photography?

Adrian: I took up photography in 2014 after finishing my university degree. I found that I had a spare few hours per week and wanted to use the time to learn something different. I bought a Nikon D3300 which is a great affordable starter camera. Becky took me to the mountains of Eryri for the first time to try out the camera and from that moment we were hooked. Our first mountain was Cader Idris.

What do you love about taking pictures?

We love the whole process of planning where to go and working out the optimum time for our shoots. We have spent nights on mountain tops shooting the stars, we have also spent time shooting the Aurora in Iceland and Norway and when the months of planning go well and we have something tangible to keep hold of it is a great feeling. Taking photos helps to remember those great times.

Where is your favourite place to take pictures and why?

The ultimate time and place to take photos, in our opinion, is in the mountains at the time of the new moon. This time is perfect for astrophotography and the mountains contain little light pollution. In Wales, if we are lucky, we can see the Aurora from our dark sky reserves. We are very fortunate to live in north Wales.

What equipment do you use?

We use two cameras: a Nikon Z6 and Z7. The Z6 for low-light photography and the Z7 for all other types.

What do you enjoy about being part of the Leader Camera Club?

It is nice seeing how other members choose to shoot locations differently than we do and how they present them. Members of the group help to inspire others to get out and get shooting.

If you could photograph anyone or any place who/what would it be and why?

Quite a few places on the bucket list but polar bears on Svalbard would be our choice. Seeing these awesome creatures in their natural environment would be very amazing.

An early morning start for this one. We were out of bed before 2am and up to the top of Yr Wyddfa just before 6am, in late August 2021.

Anything else you think we should know eg any awards, exhibitions, charity creations etc

We have had our images printed in quite a few publications over the past few years including The Great Outdoors Magazine, and also have images printed in calendars used to raise money for mountain rescue organisations.
