POLICE have identifed a potential key witness as part of a murder investigation in Wrexham.
North Wales Police was appealing for help in identifying the person who could assist with its ongoing investigation into the alleged murder of John Ithell.
The person was seen walking along Redwither Lane in Abenbury, Wrexham, from the Cefn Road end, and in the direction of the Industrial Estate at 4.47am on Monday, June 12.
At 6.42am the same morning, police were made aware of a report that John Ithell, also known locally as Bronco, of Pentre Gwyn, Wrexham, was found on a lane adjacent to Cefn Road, Wrexham.

He was taken to hospital, but later sadly died.
The person has now been identified, police confirmed on Monday (July 17).
A NWP spokesperon said: "Of the five men arrested on suspicion of murder and released on bail as part of the investigation, two have since been released with no further action.
"Three men remain on bail as enquiries continue.
