POWERING through the storms and terrible weather conditions, Leeswood Carnival returned last weekend.

For the first time since 2019, the popular carnival returned on Saturday, July, 8, with the main events taking place at Phoenix Park, Mold.

Despite the torrential rain and thunder, the carnival did not disappoint with a fantastic funfair, live entertainment, food and drinks and a number of stalls.

The Leader:

Ally Harrison-Dean, an event organiser, said: "Against all odds, Leeswood Carnival was a success with real stars of the show being the community who showed us love and support to the end.

"It was paramount that everyone involved was kept safe and we carried out regular checks and risk assessments throughout the day.

"Staying put as the weather persisted, watching the performers, listening to the inspiring bands as they danced in the unforgiving rain.

"A really big thank you to all the volunteers who helped on the days running up to the carnival day and also the big clear up afterwards. Without your help, Leeswood Carnival wouldn't be able to go ahead.
